FAQ’s- Back-to-School Bash

Hispano Exito and Charitable Crusaders have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to better serve our guests.

Is the event open to the public, or by invite-only?

Our event is open to the public! In fact, we welcome everyone to come and enjoy the different vendors/exhibitors, aquatics corner, and all of the other amazing aspects of our event! However, if your family is interested in receiving assistance for school supplies, you must pre-register for the event. That can be done by going to our registration page.

How do I know if I am qualified for school supplies?

Generally, if your family receives CHIP/MEDICAID/SNAP, you automatically qualify for the event, and all we ask is for you to upload proof of those services during online pre-registration. If you do not receive CHIP/MEDICAID/SNAP, you must meet the 2015 Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. You can view the Poverty Guidelines by clicking here(Will open in PDF format) If you believe you qualify, you may click here to visit the registration page, and apply for school supplies. Please note, that submitting an application does NOT in anyway, automatically grant you assistance for school supplies. ALL applicant requests must be approved by the committee of representatives. What are some important tips/reminders you suggest sharing with families?

Our event is all about having a good time! Ultimately, our event will be set-up both indoors, and outdoors, so we suggest bringing sunblock for the outdoors. (Texas HEAT!) In addition, your family may want to bring a bathing suite/extra clothesfor the family if you plan on visiting the aquatics center! One of the most important things you should bring is your voucher you received by email if you were approved for school supplies, as this will be scanned upon entry of the distribution line. If you have lost your voucher before the event, please click here to contact us. What is the registration process like?

We have three applications, the Family Registration portal, the Volunteer Registration portal, and the Vendor/Exhibitor portal. They can be found by clicking here.

For family registration, the application process consists of the following:

  1. Family submits application for school supplies- Confirmation email is immediately sent, confirming that we received your application
  2. Committee of Representatives will review your application and confirm proof of CHIP/MEDICAID/SNAP or income from your 2014 Federal Income Tax Return
  3. Committee of Representatives will call you to confirm that your application has been granted or denied.
  4. If your application has been granted, the representative will enter your information into our event management system, and you will be emailed a voucher, that you can either print out physically, or download the app containing the voucher electronically.
